Celebrate Trans Day of Visibility with a screening of the legendary documentary Paris Is Burning.
This 1990 film offers an intimate look at New York City’s ballroom scene in 1980’s New York City; A space built by Black and Latinx queer and trans communities. Through fierce performances and deeply personal interviews, the film explores themes of identity, chosen family, survival, and self-expression.
We’ll follow the lives of ball participants—including trans women like Venus Xtravaganza - who found refuge and power in this underground world.
*100% of ticket sales will be donated to the Trans Youth Equality Fund.
