So you might be wondering...what exactly is ekphrasic poetry?

Ekphrasis has been around as a genre of poetry for centuries, yet unlike a lot of poetry forms, it isn't limiting in that you have a fixed set of parameters to work with. It's malleable to all sorts of styles and voices, so long as you're just writing about art--it pushes the poet to think deeper about other artistic media.

Join artist, film producer, and writer William E. Heston for a short and sweet introductory 1.5 hour workshop on this ancient art, and get ideas for your next new piece! You may even be inspired to write on your favorite painting or sculpture.

Tickets are donation-based, with a suggested amount of $10-15.
