Event Details
Environmental graphic design is more than aesthetics—it influences who feels seen, welcomed, and valued in a space. In this talk, Jacquelyn Iyamah explores how spatial messaging can either reinforce exclusion or foster belonging. She examines the role of design in shaping experiences across race, gender, class, culture, and ability, offering insights on how designers can create environments that center and uplift systemically excluded communities.
Speaker:
Jacquelyn Iyamah is the founder of Making the Body a Home, a design consultancy that educates designers on creating racially equitable physical spaces. Her work has been recognized by Architectural Digest, the Journal of Interior Design, and Harvard Graduate School of Design.
